BTTR Timeline

2015

A Dream Begins

Back to the Roots was started on a dream. We wanted to teach our children how to raise livestock and grow good food for our family. The coral and waterers are ready.

2016

The Barn being built

The first barn which was quickly added on in 2 years.

2017

Upgraded our equipment

not new, but this is still our mainstay tractor today. It does everything we need to do and still keeps going.

2018

Purchase our First Highland calf

Daisy was loved a lot and was a great start into highland cattle.

Purchase of our first Highland fold. 8 head in total. By the end of the year we are at 20 head.

2019

Stalls in the barn getting Done.

All the calving stalls are done. We are currently at 32 Highlands and a few others. Getting chute system ready and started Artificially Inseminating cattle.

2020

First Artificially Inseminated Calf born BTTR Corona!.. By now we have Inseminated all our cows.

2021

Outdoor barns are completed.

A huge change from when the kids first sat on the hill. We now have over 7,000 square feet of roofing for our cattle and working facility. The heard is strong and growing. In 2021 we started Attending cattle show to learn.

BTTR Corona Takes Reserve Champ in her class at NCHCA show.

2022

Started Embryo Transfers

HVF Lady Marcy in for her first of many flushes (Aspirations). In 2022 we preformed 6 Flushes on our cows, and grew in numbers from there. Not looking back now!

2023

Frist trip to Denver National Western Stock Show.

What a learning year. We took 2 cows to Denver in 2022. BTTR Marshmallow and BTTR Lunar Eclipse.

Wagyu- We purchased and implanted Wagyu embryos.

Wagyu is the next breed for Back to the Roots. Wagyu is known for the highest marbled beef in the world.

Current

Still growing

In 2024 BTTR was featured in a local news paper for customizing Cattle. By now we have imported and exported semen, and ebmryos to 4 different countires. We are still growing our genetics and take pride in growing the best.
